Community Engagement Strategy

 

London Luton Airport's Community Engagement Strategy document sets out the airport’s formal commitments to the community up to 2012. The strategy focuses on three action areas, ‘A Better Environment’, ‘A Vibrant Neighbourhood’ and ‘A Growing Economy’, identifying priority programmes in each one.

 

 

Surface Access

Airport Surface Access Strategy

London Luton Airport is the fifth busiest passenger airport in the UK, with excellent transport links connecting it to London, the South East, the East of England and the South Midlands. Since publishing its first Airport Surface Access Strategy in July 2000, London Luton Airport has seen increased passenger throughput whilst achieving a significant shift in the proportion of its passengers and employees travelling by public transport. This success has been achieved through the development of strong partnerships with key stakeholders, commitment from its public transport operators and the support of the Airport Transport Forum.

This ASAS sets out challenging new targets, with a view to building on this success. This document has been prepared to reflect the Department for Transport’s Guidance on Airport Transport Forums and Airport Surface Access Strategies (1999), and has been subject to stakeholder and public consultation.

Noise Action Plan

Noise Action Plan 2012 - 2015

This Noise Action Plan has been prepared in response to the Environmental Noise Directive (2002/49/EC) which requires all Member States within the European Union to produce Noise Maps and Action Plans for the main sources of environmental noise, including airports. It has been prepared in accordance with the Environmental Noise (England) Regulations 2006 (as amended) and associated guidance published by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in March 2009 and has been subject to extensive stakeholder and public consultation.

Annual Monitoring Reports

In this section you will find Airfield Environment Reports detailing a variety of statistics relating to aircraft movements, noise monitoring, aircraft activity complaints and sample actual flown tracks of London Luton Airport aircraft operations.

These reports are presented quarterly to the London Luton Airport Consultative Committee (www.llacc.com) which monitors and reviews the impact of our operations on local communities.

2008 Community Engagement Report

 

		London Luton Airport's 2008 Community Engagement Annual Report details the Airport's progress against priorities and commitments as set out in the 2008-2012 Community Engagement Strategy launched in January 2008. The report also details a new set of commitments for 2009 in relation to the three Actions Areas identified in the Community Engagement Strategy of "A Better Environment", "A Vibrant Neighbourhood" and "A Growing Economy".

 

2009 Community Engagement Report

London Luton Airport has published its Community Engagement Annual Report for 2009. The report summarises the Airport’s Community Engagement achievements in 2009 and outlines new and more challenging commitments for the Community programme in 2010.

Airfield Environment Reports
