Community Engagement Strategy

 

London Luton Airport's Community Engagement Strategy document sets out the airport’s formal commitments to the community up to 2012. The strategy focuses on three action areas, ‘A Better Environment’, ‘A Vibrant Neighbourhood’ and ‘A Growing Economy’, identifying priority programmes in each one.

Surface Access

Airport Surface Access Strategy

Today saw the launch of the London Luton Airport (LLA), Interim Airport Surface Access Strategy 2009 - 2011 (ASAS). The aim of the ASAS is to enhance surface access links to and from London Luton Airport and encourage greater public transport to deliver social, economic and environmental benefits for the surrounding community.
 

The ASAS is an integral part of the Community Engagement Strategy launched in January 2008. Successfully delivering the objectives set out within the ASAS will enable London Luton Airport to perform to the best of its ability as an International gateway, whilst providing maximum benefit to the local area and wider region and importantly reducing co2 emissions related to airport surface access journeys.

The ASAS outlines recent achievements as well as setting challenging new targets, which are;

To increase the proportion of air passengers travelling to and from LLA by public transport to 40% or above by 2011

To reduce the proportion of staff travelling alone by car to and from LLA to 60% or below by 2011

Annual Monitoring Reports

In this section you will find Airfield Environment Reports detailing a variety of statistics relating to aircraft movements, noise monitoring, aircraft activity complaints and sample actual flown tracks of London Luton Airport aircraft operations.

These reports are presented quarterly to the London Luton Airport Consultative Committee (www.llacc.com) which monitors and reviews the impact of our operations on local communities.

2008 Community Engagement Report

 

		London Luton Airport's 2008 Community Engagement Annual Report details the Airport's progress against priorities and commitments as set out in the 2008-2012 Community Engagement Strategy launched in January 2008. The report also details a new set of commitments for 2009 in relation to the three Actions Areas identified in the Community Engagement Strategy of "A Better Environment", "A Vibrant Neighbourhood" and "A Growing Economy".

 

2009 Community Engagement Report

London Luton Airport has published its Community Engagement Annual Report for 2009. The report summarises the Airport’s Community Engagement achievements in 2009 and outlines new and more challenging commitments for the Community programme in 2010.
