The Pasque Charity is Announced as Airport Charity of the Year 2009
London Luton Airport has announced it will be supporting The Pasque Charity as its chosen Charity of the Year for 2009. The campaign was launched with an initial donation of £10,000, handed over during a festive evening at The Pasque where representatives from the Airport helped to put up Christmas decorations at the Children’s Hospice.
The Airport’s Charity Committee aims to multiply the initial donation, working closely with fundraisers from the Charity, to involve staff and passengers alike in a myriad of entertaining fundraising activity across the Airport site.
|
The Pasque Charity provides specialist palliative care for adults and children with life-limiting conditions and the multi-professional approach offered by The Pasque Charity involves medical, nursing, social, spiritual and emotional care and is provided 24 hours-a-day, every day of the year. The Pasque Charity operates two hospice services – The Pasque Adult Hospice and Keech Cottage Children’s Hospice, which are both located together within beautiful countryside just north of Luton. Simon Earles, London Luton Airport’s General Manager: Planning & Corporate Social Responsibility said “The Pasque Charity is an organisation close to many Airport employees’ hearts and it is a great pleasure to be able to make a contribution to the amazing work that the organisation undertakes. We sincerely hope to add significantly to our initial donation through fundraising activities with employees and passengers throughout the year to make a real difference to this outstanding charity.’ |

Charity Of The Year '08
LONDON LUTON AIRPORT PLEDGES YEAR OF SUPPORT
London Luton Airport has announced it will be supporting the East Anglian Air Ambulance as its chosen charity for 2008. The campaign will be launched with an initial donation of £10,000 which the Airport's Charity Committee hopes to multiply by developing further fundraising opportunities involving its employees, business partners and passengers.
The air ambulances operated by the East Anglian Air Ambulance provide cover 365 days a year across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk; an area covering approximately 11% of the total area of England.
|
|
The East Anglian region, considered the most rural area in England with accidents sometimes occurring in remote locations not easily accessible by road, needs the air ambulance service more than ever. With the region also featuring major road networks such as the A14 and sections of the A1 and M1 it's not surprising that attending road traffic accidents already makes up more than 50% of its work. |
|
|
|
||
The East Anglian Air Ambulance is the third busiest air ambulance charity in the UK, flying an average of 3 missions per day. Simon Earles, London Luton Airport's General Manager: Planning & Corporate Social Responsibility said "The air ambulance provides a vital emergency service for our region so we are delighted to assist with the fundraising effort and, through our Charity Committee, raise awareness to get the whole Airport involved".
Simon Gray, Executive Director of the East Anglian Air Ambulance, commented: "This is a fantastic offer of support from London Luton Airport and we are absolutely delighted that the Charity Committee has decided to support our work this year. We look forward to working with them closely during 2008.
Together, we'll make a real difference to the outcomes of some of those in our region unfortunate enough to suffer an accident or medical emergency this year."

In 2009 Airport employees threw themselves into support of Keech Hospice Care, getting involved in marathons, triathlons, a midnight walk, quiz nights, charity collections and even cake baking. Keech Hospice Care has also benefited from the London Luton Airport employee volunteering programme with employees taking part in a number of challenges at the hospice including cleaning the hospice hydro pool, a deep clean of the new Adult In-Patient Unit prior to its opening and renovation of the courtyard garden.
David White, Chief Executive, Keech Hospice Care said ‘We are very grateful for the support we’ve received from London Luton Airport and have been really impressed by all the fundraising efforts put in by the Airport team. Not only has this helped to raise some of the essential funds we need, it has also helped to increase awareness of our work across our community. Both of these things have been a great boost for the charity. London Luton Airport has played an important part in helping us achieve this vision and I very much hope everyone there shares our sense of pride in this achievement.’
London Luton Airport employees have again selected Keech Hospice Care as the Airport Charity of the Year for 2010. A further £10,000 is pledged to the charity, with employees already planning a whole range of fundraising challenges with a view to surpassing the 2009 total.
Siân Pearce, Community Relations Executive at London Luton Airport said "This represents an incredible team effort. We’re delighted we’ve been able to make a contribution to the work of Keech Hospice Care. This is a charity which is close to many Airport employees’ hearts and we’re grateful to everybody who has rallied round in support. We’re looking forward to building on 2009’s efforts with more fundraising activities with employees and passengers alike to continue to make a real difference.”

£50,000 to go to Community Trust Fund in 2010
London Luton Airport today announced £50,000 will go to the Airport’s Community Trust Fund in 2010. The fund, which was established a year ago, was set up to provide support for local community initiatives that positively contribute towards the aims and objectives of the Airport’s Community Engagement Strategy.
The £50,000 available through the fund in 2010 is open to applications from groups in Luton, Stevenage, Central Bedfordshire, North Hertfordshire, Aylesbury Vale and St Albans district - which includes Harpenden. Miraculous makeover for Luton & Dunstable Accident and Emergency Room courtesy of London Luton Airport
Volunteers from London Luton Airport rolled up their sleeves and picked up their paint brushes to transform one of the children’s rooms in accident and emergency at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital, helping to brighten the room and make it more appealing for children.
The team gave the room a fresh lick of paint and decorated the walls with an array of well known cartoon characters. The work will help to make the room more inviting and comforting for young children, when they have a visit to the Hospital.
Sian Pearce, Community Relations Executive at the airport and one of the volunteers on the day, said: ‘We’re delighted to have taken part in this project. This challenge is an excellent example of the support we are able to give to community groups through our employee volunteering programme. The Luton and Dunstable Hospital is a fantastic community resource and it’s amazing to know that the work we have done will help create a more inviting environment for young patients.’
Staff sister at Luton and Dunstable Accident & Emergency said commented: “Its really bright and cheerful and a lot more welcoming for people, especially for children. We are so grateful that the staff from the Airport found the time to come and paint the room they have done a lovely job.”

Lutopia

Passengers discover ‘Lutopia’ at London Luton Airport
The eye catching photography of Ben Hodson is now adorning the walls of London Luton Airport to be enjoyed by passengers and staff.
Artist & photographer, Ben Hodson has created Project “Lutopia” to look at the people and landscape of Luton and an exhibition of his work is now on permanent display at the Airport.
Hodson says: “The project looks at Luton as a whole; however, this display centres on the Airport and it’s people. I’m interested in the passing of time and photography's ability to fragment it and freeze a brief moment. When we think about time the Airport is really relevant as time is important to passengers catching flights.”
The exhibition, commissioned by the Airport is based around two collections. The first watches the transition of passengers & staff through the Airport's spaces using techniques and styles similar to that of the street photographers of the mid 20th Century. The second, in contrast, looks at the environment in which people find themselves, using large scale photo-montages. Both provide a meaningful insight into airport life.
The striking photomontages (up to 1m x 2.2m) were created by photos taken in rapid succession and show a whole scene caught in the equivalent of one second of time.

Airport is Fit For Business
London Luton Airport is officially “Fit For Business!”
2nd September 2009
Over the last year London Luton Airport has been encouraging employees to get ‘Fit for Business’ as one of the participants on the Big Lottery Funded ‘Wellbeing in The East’ Fit for Business Portfolio.
The airport signed up to the ‘Fit For Business’ (FFB) national recognition programme for workplace health and wellbeing, working to support employee health and wellbeing across 5 key remits: Physical Activity, Healthy Eating options, Mental Health & Wellbeing promotion, Smoking Cessation Information and Drugs and Alcohol Awareness.
The airport recently reached ‘Fit for Business Recognition’ and has officially been branded a Fit for Business certified workplace.
FFB and LLA have worked together to nominate a team of ‘Workplace Champions’. It is the responsibility of the ‘Champions’ to lead and deliver the FFB programme within the workplace. FFB then works with these Champions to offer tailored one-to-one support, training days, a dedicated support helpline and offers an online toolkit of resources at the Champions’ disposal.
Armed with the support of the FFB team, over the last year the Champions have been able to instigate a whole host of employee interventions to improve staff wellbeing and lifestyle choices at work.
Highlights of the project which has successfully taken LLA to ‘Fit For Business Recognition’ are;
- A road-show style event across the airport taking employees’ blood pressure. The launch was attended by numerous staff and FFB provided blood pressure checks for 128 staff.
- 30 day Gym Membership for £1, Dance Mat sessions and Table Tennis offered on site and the kick start of the Tax Free Bike Scheme with Sustrans.
- Healthy Eating events and other activities to encourage staff to maintain a healthy balanced diet despite varying shift patterns, including the introduction of an ‘Eat Well’ promotion, linking with Prêt a Manger to offer all Airport employees one FREE piece of fruit per person, per day for 6 weeks.
Simon Earles, General Manager, CSR and Planning commented ‘Through the FFB scheme employees are getting a real feel for ‘Moving More and Eating Well’, which has great long term benefits for individuals and the Airport as a whole.’

Fund Off to a Flying Start
The Community Trust Fund, which has been established by London Luton Airport to support local community initiatives, has committed £16,000 in grants in the first quarter of the year. The total fund for 2009 is £50,000.
One of the first projects to benefit from the Trust Fund is the Hitchin Triangle Community Garden. The Triangle Garden, a community garden, created and cultivated by local people of all ages and abilities, is part of a local park in Hitchin. The garden is open all year round for the local community to take part in hands-on gardening based activities. The grant will enable a part-time horticulturist to be employed for 26 weeks to deliver structured horticultural therapy sessions for adults with learning disabilities. The work undertaken is in association with the Growing People Programme and will help maintain the community garden for the enjoyment of local people as well as developing a resource for local school groups to visit.

Festival of Flight 2009
16th July 2009
Community celebrates success of Festival of Flight project.
Children from local schools, Councillors and Airport management all met last week to celebrate the culmination of the Festival of Flight project, a joint initiative between London Luton Airport and Luton Borough Council’s Community Development Service.
Festival of Flight is an innovative national project developed by UK based charity Heartstone. First trialled in 2002, it uses stories and images of flight to engage with young people by examining national, racial, cultural and other boundaries, as well as key citizenship issues (past and present), with the aim of raising aspirations and sensitively challenge stereotypical perceptions.
|
|
The Luton Festival of Flight project, which launched in May 2008, saw two youth ambassadors chosen to participate in a once in a lifetime opportunity to fly in a light aircraft and then use these exciting flight experiences to inspire young people at a selection of schools workshops in Luton. The project has been recognised as a fantastic example of successful partnership work by London Luton Airport and Luton Borough Council’s Community Development Service. |
|
|
|
||
Glyn Jones, Managing Director, London Luton Airport, commented;
' With the aviation theme there was a clear fit for the Festival of Flight with the Airport and we are delighted that the local participating schools have grasped the project with such vigor, speaking with some of the pupils this evening it is clear that the project and the ambassadors have truly provided inspiration.'
The Mayor of Luton, Cllr Mohammed Riaz added: “This is such an innovative concept and I can ensure you that it wasn’t just the children that were inspired. Hearing experiences like this first hand is an excellent way of raising the aspirations of all young people, irrespective of their race, culture, gender, wealth or religion.”

The project looks to involve students from all backgrounds including Muslim, black and other minority and ethnic groups and hopes for interest from both boys and girls. For the girls, particularly those of Asian background, this project has a further role in challenging stereotypes and encouraging new career choices and new opportunities.

Meet the Buyer
23rd October 2008
Suppliers vote Airport ‘Meet the Buyer’ a roaring success
London Luton Airport held its first Meet the Buyer event on 16th and 17th of October 2008, hosted in conjunction with Luton Borough Council, The Chamber, Business Link and the Federation of Small Businesses. The event was organised to give local businesses the opportunity to showcase their services to Airport companies.
Feedback from those that attended ‘Meet the Buyer’ has been overwhelmingly positive with many businesses indicating their meetings had been successful and some even concluding deals with Buyers on the spot. Over 500 appointments were held at the event between 100 suppliers and 25 airport ‘buyers’. Additionally through generous donations made by attending suppliers £10,000 was raised for the London Luton Airport Charity of the Year ‘The East Anglian Air Ambulance’.
‘Meet the Buyer’ is part of London Luton Airport and Luton Borough Council’s commitment to work closely with local business networks, the local authorities and sub-regional partners to enhance local supply chain activity. The event has shown the benefits of procuring goods and services on a more local basis, helping local businesses and employment levels, as well as potentially bringing additional environmental benefits. It has also highlighted the breadth and quality of small businesses present in Luton and the wider sub-region.
Glyn Jones, London Luton Managing Director said “London Luton Airport is committed to making a positive contribution towards the regeneration and growth of Luton and the sub-region. We believe that our success has been built, and is most sustainably maintained, on a foundation of strong relationships between the airport and its communities. We have been delighted with the reaction of the local business community to ‘Meet the Buyer’ and the positive feedback we have received from all involved. We look forward to the event generating real financial value for all parties involved.”
Luton entrepreneur, Shiraz Jessa, attended ‘Meet the Buyer’ and said ‘I came along not really sure of what to expect; I have been really impressed with the scale of the event with so many buyers from large companies based at the airport ready and eager to meet and talk with local businesses about their products and services. The meetings I have had today all present real opportunities for my business and I am confident will lead to contracts, some suppliers I spoke to even reached agreement to do business with buyers on the day!’

Phoenix Players
27th November 2008
London Luton Airport offers a lifeline to local theatre group
London Luton Airport are on standby to rescue one of Luton's oldest and best loved amateur dramatic societies, The Phoenix Players, to save them from extinction.
For the first time in 52 years The Phoenix Players have had to shelve their latest production at The Library Theatre due to lack of funds. Since rehearsals stopped for their November show they have been energetically fund raising but still have a shortfall to put on a new show in May 2009.
|
However, London Luton Airport has flown in with a generous donation to enable them to carry on. Maggy Brown of The Phoenix Players said ’The cost of putting on a show can be enormous and is quite often not covered by ticket sales and members' subscriptions. We are constantly fundraising but gradually we have slipped into the position where we literally had no money in the bank. It would be a shame to disband after so many years and so we are extremely grateful of London Luton Airport’s support ".

Calibre Audio Library
17th April 2012
Airport Trust Fund Boosts Library Service Volunteers
Local volunteers working with Buckinghamshire based charity Calibre Audio Library have been given a boost with their training costs thanks to a grant from the London Luton Airport Community Trust Fund.
Calibre Audio Library works to improve the quality of life for people who are blind, partially sighted, physically disabled or dyslexic, by bringing them the pleasure of reading through a subscription-free, nationwide postal service of recorded books. The charity received a £1000 grant from the fund to support training costs for its volunteers who help to administer the valuable library service.
Linda Adams, Calibre’s Head of Library Operations, said: “We are very grateful for this support from London Luton Airport, which will help us to train and support the volunteers who make such a tremendous contribution to our operation. Without them, we couldn’t meet the demand for our library service from thousands of print-disabled people.”
The London Luton Airport Community Trust Fund supports a range of local charities and community groups and the operator has committed £50,000 to the fund in 2012. The Trust Fund provides support for local community initiatives and seeks to support the long term prosperity of the local community.

easyJet, Wizz Air, Ryanair, Monarch, Thomson, Aer Lingus Regional, EL AL, Blue Air, Flybe and Adria Airways operate from the airport, departing to over 90 destinations including services to Europe, Africa, and Asia, with onward connections to Mumbai, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Beijing and Bangkok via Tel Aviv.

(with a 90 per cent shareholding) and the international business arm of Aena, the Spanish national airport and air traffic control organisation, Aena Desarrollo Internacional S.A. (with a 10 per cent shareholding).
London Luton Airport has been nominated by the Mayor of London as one of 35 locations to host Olympic London Ambassadors. The Airport is expected to be a significant transport hub for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games, welcoming travelling athletes and guests attending the events. London Luton’s close proximity to London and excellent rail link to St Pancras International will make it one of the fastest and most convenient gateways to the Games.
Community Trust Fund 2012
23rd February 2012
Airport Operator commits £50,000 for Community Trust Fund in 2012
The operator of London Luton Airport has committed to a further £50,000 for its Community Trust Fund in 2012. Established in 2009, the fund was set up to provide support for local community initiatives that positively contribute towards the aims and objectives of the Airport’s Community Engagement Strategy.
This year’s fund is open to applications from groups in Luton, Stevenage, Central Bedfordshire, North Hertfordshire, Aylesbury Vale and St Albans district - which includes Harpenden. The fund is independently administered by Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation and grants are awarded by its Grants Panel which undertakes monitoring and evaluation to ensure the grants deliver significant impact in the social, environmental and economic life of the community.
In 2011 the £50K Community Trust Fund continued to make a valuable contribution to the local community. 43 grants were made, supporting a range of local charities and community organisations.
Since 2009 £131,000 has been distributed to 101 groups. The Foundation has calculated that there have been over 4,800 direct beneficiaries and over 97,800 indirect beneficiaries of the scheme. The fund seeks to support the long term prosperity of the local community and we are pleased that 67% of groups have stated a grant from the Trust Fund has helped their long term sustainability.
Local youth homeless charity LAMP was one of the groups that received funding in 2011. Karen Rabjohn from the charity said "Lamp would like to sincerely thank London Luton Airport for supporting their football team. A homeless young person often feels isolated and alone, their self esteem and motivation is at rock bottom. This compounded with financial restrictions and cultural differences often mean that many LAMP clients who want to participate in sport, and particularly football, are excluded from doing so. The LAMP football team allows these young men to feel included and on an equal level with other young men in society. It helps form friendships and social bonds. This grant will directly help many more young homeless men to have a focus and move forward in their lives."

NOAH Enterprise
30th January 2012
London Luton Airport raises £30,000 for NOAH Enterprise

2011 was a successful year for London Luton Airport, working in partnership with local social welfare charity NOAH (New Opportunities and Horizons) Enterprise, to raise a magnificent total of £30,000.
Airport staff members undertook a range of activities to support NOAH as their Charity of the Year including volunteering, a quiz night, charity collections, clothes recycling, cake baking and carol singing. A notable highlight was November’s “Big Help Week”, a community-wide appeal which encouraged local people to donate unwanted quality saleable items which could then be resold in NOAH’s charity shops.
Jim O’Connor, Chief Executive at NOAH Enterprise said:
“The association has been immensely rewarding in so many ways for NOAH. Above all, the involvement of members of London Luton Airport’s staff team in various ways has, on every occasion, been a cause for joy. From the involvement of staff who provided hands-on support whether in decorating or professional advice, and those who have visited and taken the opportunity to see something of what we do and been affected by that, the relationship has been first class and it has been a real pleasure, and something we will treasure, to be involved with.”
Sian Pearce, Community Relations Executive at London Luton Airport said:
‘It’s fantastic that we were able to work to support NOAH with a range of activities to either raise funds or give practical help. NOAH provides such a valuable service to the local community; we are delighted to have raised such a fantastic amount to support their work. Thank you to all Airport colleagues for their tireless support and dedication in supporting this cause”.

Five unemployed young people aged 18 –25 from Bedfordshire have successfully landed jobs after completing a Prince’s Trust “Get Into Airports” programme held at London Luton Airport . The programme started with two weeks intensive training in First Aid, CV coaching, interview and presentation skills. A further two weeks were spent completing work placements, both in the Airport Company and with its business partners, such as First Capital Connect, Costa Coffee and DHL. Last year more than three in four young people helped by The Prince’s Trust moved into work, training or education.
At a presentation to mark the end of the programme, the group shared its experiences in front of an audience of more than 60 people including Cllr Don Worlding, Mayor of Luton, Graham Ball Regional Director of The Prince’s Trust and Glyn Jones, Managing Director of London Luton Airport.
Before Kieran Underwood, 20, got involved with The Prince’s Trust, he was unemployed and looking for an opportunity to develop a career in a practical field. During one of his visits to the JobCentre Kieran heard about The Prince’s Trust “Get into Airports” course and jumped at the opportunity to take part in the programme. He said: ‘The programme has been amazing, the Trust was really supportive and I felt really lucky to get specialist training from companies such as DHL and the Airport Fire Service. I did my work placement with the Airport Cargo Centre and Airfield Operations Team. It was great to work in one of the behind the scenes roles and I’m proud that I was trusted with a role which came with responsibility for helping to keep the aerodrome safe. I’ve now been offered a job at the Airport which I’m thrilled about as there is so much opportunity here it’s the first step to my new career. The course changed my life and I can’t thank the Prince’s Trust enough for helping me get this far. Without them I’d probably still be unemployed”.
Sian Pearce, Community Relations Executive, London Luton Airport, said: “It has been a pleasure to facilitate this training with youth charity The Prince’s Trust. To see so many young people develop their skills and start to realise their own potential within just four weeks was incredible. Thanks must also go to APCOA, Europcar, Costa, First Capital Connect, Aelia and DHL for their help in delivering the programme”.
The other young people on the programme will now receive six months mentoring by The Prince’s Trust to help them find work.

BIG Help News

Luton’s Community Spirit Ensures BIG Help Week Success
Luton showed its community spirit during BIG Help Week for NOAH Enterprise and helped raise much needed funding to support the town’s homeless this winter.
The initiative was launched jointly between London Luton Airport and its Charity of the Year, NOAH Enterprise, as a community-wide appeal to local people to donate any unwanted quality saleable items which could then be resold in NOAH’s charity shops.
Donations from schools, church groups and businesses arrived by the bag full day after day and volunteers were kept busy sorting and preparing the goods for sale at NOAH’s High Town Charity Shop and the NOAH Furniture Warehouse, Church Street.
Jim O’Connor, Chief Executive of NOAH Enterprise said “At this time of year, conditions can be especially harsh for those living on the streets of Luton. Last year our night shelter helped around 60 people survive the winter who may not have survived otherwise. BIG Help Week has raised awareness for our work and the goods generously donated will raise essential funds to provide help to those who need it most”.

Airport Volunteers Revamp NOAH Welfare Centre Shop
A charity shop within NOAH Enterprise’s Park Street Welfare Centre has undergone a revamp, courtesy of London Luton Airport’s staff volunteers.
The shop, which provides necessary clothing for Welfare Centre users, is heavily used and was in desperate need of a refresh. A team of five volunteers from various Airport departments took up their brushes and gave the store a bright new look. Once new flooring has been laid, the shop can be restocked and continue to provide essentials for those who need them.
The Welfare Centre is open 365 days a year and is used by over 1,000 people.
Jim O’Connor, Chief Executive of NOAH Enterprise said “This is just one example of the tremendous support that we are receiving from London Luton Airport, for those among the town’s most deprived. Their staff volunteer team brought willing enthusiasm, skills, and huge energy all wrapped in happy smiles. The end result is a pleasant environment in which those who use our services can choose the clothes they need.”
Louise Ross, from the Airport’s Marketing Team commented “We gave just a few hours to help decorate this shop, but it will make so much difference to NOAH and enable them to continue their excellent work at the heart of the Welfare Centre. It was a pleasure to be involved”.

London Luton Airport thanks Community Groups who raised aid for Pakistan Flood Victims

London Luton Airport has hosted a presentation to thank the 21 Luton based community groups who, working alongside the Airport, raised £25,000 of aid in just three weeks for Pakistan flood victims.
The presentation was attended by staff from the Airport, including Community Relations Executive Sian Pearce and Managing Director Glyn Jones who presented certificates of thanks to representatives of the community groups involved.
London Luton Airport launched the appeal in November 2010 to help flood victims in Pakistan and local people were encouraged to donate dried food items and new blankets to centres throughout the town. Airport staff and community volunteers then co-ordinated the packaging of aid parcels which were flown directly to Pakistan by Pakistan International Airways.
The Luton-wide collection was a fantastic success with over £25,000 worth of aid collected, amounting to over 14 tonnes of relief items. The Ummah Welfare Trust, a registered charity, took responsibility for distributing the goods in Pakistan, ensuring the aid reached the places where it was most needed. Food packages were distributed to 556 of the most vulnerable families in the Nowshera and Charsadda regions of Pakistan, whose homes had been washed away and who are now living in makeshift camps in the region.
Communities groups involved in the appeal included Bury Park Community Resource Centre, Farley Community Centre, Saints Community Centre, Hockwell Ring Community Centre, Raynham Way Community Centre, Bushmead Community Centre, Luton in Harmony, Putteridge Junior School, Oakwood Primary School, William Austin Junior School, Beech Hill Primary School, London Luton Airport Cargo Centre, Luton Sixth Form College, Barnfield, Luton Council of Faiths, Luton Council of Mosques, Inspire FM, Ummah Welfare Trust, SK Foods, Rabia Education Trust, Unleashing Potential.
Glyn Jones, Managing Director of London Luton Airport said:
‘We at London Luton Airport want to thank all the people and groups involved in the Pakistan Flood Victims appeal for the fantastic efforts they made in raising £25,000 of aid in just three weeks. The speed with which the whole community responded meant that aid could quickly be transported to the most needy in Pakistan and is a testimony to the civic spirit of all Lutonians.’
