A Terminal Duty Officer (TDO) faces a varied work environment with many challenges. On a typical day a TDO’s role would involve looking after passengers, maintaining terminal facilities and responding to any incidents.

Efficiency, flexibility and a high level of communication skills are most needed for this role as they deal with a huge variety of people. Airside Operations Film

An Operations Duty Officer (ODO) is responsible for safety of the runway and airside areas. On a day – to day basis an ODO works with the aircraft marshallers, taxi-way and crossing operators, who are vital to the smooth running of the Airport.

Fire Officer Film

The role of a Fire Officer is to ensure passengers and property is safe at all times. London Luton has its own fully equipped, full regulated fire station on site and operates very much like off-airport fire services do. While new recruits undergo extensive training, the more experienced fire fighters also are given top-up training to maintain high standards of aviation fire safety.
