Commitments

We remain determined to deliver against the objectives set out in 2008, and to build on the success achieved to date.

London Luton Airport has made the following commitments for 2010



A Better Environment

• Publish a final Noise Action Plan and work with the London Luton Airport Consultative committee to deliver against the commitments in this Plan
• Publish a new Night Noise Policy
• Increase recycling rates to 25% of total waste (2009-2010)
• Reduce CO2 emissions from airport controlled buildings by 10% (2008-2010)

A Vibrant Neighbourhood

• Publish an educational resource pack for local schools on the community website
• Commit ₤10,00 to the Airport Charity of the Year
• Organise at least 10 volunteering challenges
• Show practical support for local events and activities that will enhance the social, economic and environmental life of the community
• Commit ₤50,000 to the Airport Community Trust Fund

A Growing Economy

• Organise a formal work placement programme
• Work towards achieving the ‘Investors in People’ standard
• Hold a supply chain networking event
• Show practical support for local business networks, including mentoring and coaching
